Taking the step of water baptism as a public witness of Christ’s finished work of salvation received as a free gift by grace through faith. Baptism is a symbol of union with Christ and entry into his Church but does not impart spiritual life. It is not a meritorious work that earns salvation, but an outward symbol of an inward change, being identified with Jesus Christ in His all sufficient death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins. Baptism is a step of obedience in the Christian walk and I encourage all born again believers to do this – being baptized in the name of the triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. For His Glory alone.
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. – Ephesians 4 v 5-6
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost – Matthew 28:19
